Chapter 1: Meeting the Prices
As the social worker, Ms. Hayes, enters the Price Family's living room, Tony steps in behind her, clutching his backpack tightly. The room is cheerful yet overwhelming, with brightly colored decorations and family photos on the walls. He glances nervously at the friendly couple, their smiles warm yet intimidating. "Welcome, Tony!" Mrs. Price exclaims, her eyes sparkling. Tony smiles back, unsure how to greet them, before he senses a loud bark from a dog outside. Suddenly, the door swings open, and a large dog bounds in, wagging its tail furiously, drawing everyone's attention and causing Tony to jump back in surprise. "That’s Benny!" Mr. Price laughs. "Looks like you’ve got a new friend!" Tony hesitates, feeling the pressure of first impressions. Does he step forward to pet the dog, hide behind Ms. Hayes, or strike up a conversation with the Prices? The moment hangs in the air, waiting for his choice.
What happens next? Step forward to pet Benny, the dog. · Hide behind Ms. Hayes, feeling shy. · Attempt to start a conversation with Mr. and Mrs. Price.
